Several factors such as the age of the patient, skin quality, presence or absence of chronic diseases, alcohol and smoking are effective in this dynamic and variable healing process. Approximately 60-80% of the swelling disappears in the first 6 months, and it takes its final form at the end of the 1st year. In thin skinned patients, this period is much shorter, while in thick-skinned patients it can last up to 18-24 months.
